DiamondBlade, LLC. Awarded “Best of the Best” 2013

By Field & Stream Magazine

FOR RELEASE AT WILL

Field & Stream Magazine has chosen DIAMONDBLADE’s new Meridian knife to receive the 2013 “Best of the Best” Knife Category Award.  Each year, hundreds of new products and innovations are reviewed and only the top performing items are granted the “Best of The Best” designation.  This is the 4th time DIAMONDBLADE has received this award for its outstanding products and technology (2007, 2008, 2009, & 2013).

From Slaton White, Deputy Editor, Field & Stream:

“Our staff spent the better part of the past year finding and testing the gear that will make readers’ time in the woods more productive and more fun,” says Slaton White, Deputy Editor of Field & Stream. “The winning products not only withstood our tough testing, but they stood head and shoulders above the rest displaying absolute excellence in their field. The Best of the Best is the highest honor Field & Steam bestows on gear and the winning products are the best of the year; worth your time, worth your money.”

ABOUT THE PATENTED FRICTION FORGING®  TECHNOLOGY

1.    Friction Forging® generates extreme pressures and controlled heat cycles that reduce the steel’s normal grain size to super fine “nano-sized” structures. This results in raising blade edge hardness and toughness to levels never before attainable.

2.    Friction Forging® creates differential heat treatment resulting in a blade with a higher Rockwell hardness edge zone and a lower hardness value in the knife spine. Differential heat treatment is a technique found only in the finest custom knives and Japanese swords.

3.    Friction Forging® produces a corrosion-proof edge zone by changing the steel’s molecular structure and elevating the chromium content within the steel’s ferrite grain structure.

The practical result of these Friction Forging® effects is a blade with an edge that resists wear, corrosion, and deformation better than any other knife edge.  One that stays sharp longer--much longer--than any other high quality blade and yet is tough and springy, not brittle.
