1.    Friction Forging® generates extreme pressures and controlled heat cycles that reduce the steel’s normal grain size to super fine “nano-sized” structures. This results in raising blade edge hardness and toughness to levels never before attainable.

2.    Friction Forging® creates differential heat treatment resulting in a blade with a higher Rockwell hardness edge zone and a lower hardness value in the knife spine. Differential heat treatment is a technique found only in the finest custom knives and Japanese swords.

3.    Friction Forging® produces a corrosion-proof edge zone by changing the steel’s molecular structure and elevating the chromium content within the steel’s ferrite grain structure.


The practical result of these Friction Forging® effects is a blade with an edge that resists wear, corrosion, and deformation better than any other knife edge.  One that stays sharp longer--much longer--than any other high quality blade and yet is tough and springy, not brittle.
